Paulson: We Need Incentives to Save the Climate

Writing for the Financial Times ahead of global climate change negotiations in Paris, Risky Business Project Co-Chair Hank Paulson draws attention to the crucial role finance will play in creating a transition to a low-carbon economy. Green finance should focus on drawing in private capital to new, cleaner energy technologies, he writes, so that they can be commercialized. Capital, currently abundant, should be allocated to low-carbon sectors that can also generate new sources of economic growth and create new jobs.
